Phu My Bridge
The first cable-stayed bridge in Ho Chi Minh City, the Phu My Bridge is a 2,300 foot cable-stayed bridge with a 1,250 foot main span, whose deck was constructed using the balanced cantilever method.
"In view of the high level of complexity associated with the analysis a global 3D model comprising representative beam and cable elements was developed. In order to economize on data preparation and to make the modelling process more efficient, a database was constructed in LARSA Section Composer for generating the section properties of the prismatic and non-prismatic members comprising the global model. This database was interfaced with the global model using the facilities provided within the software." - Tony Gee and Partners
