Nivedita Setu Bridge
"The Nivedita Setu Bridge is part of new 6.1-km highway located north of Calcutta, India. The main bridge is 880m (2,890 ft) long, and carries six lanes of traffic over the Hooghly River. The profile of the main bridge was tightly constrained both above and below. Foundations in the deep, soft soils were quite expensive, so an alternative was sought to minimize the overall structural depth while maintaining a limited number of piers. The solution was a precast segmental "extradosed" bridge." - SYSTRA International Bridge Technologies
